Jessica’s 1st Birthday Party Sydney Event Photography
A huge 1st Sydney birthday party for not one but three babies! Jessica and her two friends held their party at Wizzy World in Chatswood, North Shore, along with over 40 other guests. It was a big event for the close friends.
Many families have big plans for important life events such as birthdays. But they may not be sure whether to use a photographer or to ask a friend with a camera to come along. Personally I don’t take my camera out to my own family’s important events. Whenever I’m behind the camera, I’m inside the camera and don’t get to experience the event. The event may finish and I may have 100 great shots, but I have no memories of the event. Because I wasn’t present in the moment.
That’s why we recommend using a professional Sydney Event Photographer at important events. The worst thing about being a guest at a party is not being able to experience the party because you’re on camera duty. You wouldn’t ask your friend who is a professional cook to cater your party, so why would you ask a guest to hold the camera?
Anyway, this party was a big event with 3 families having first birthdays, and a dozen other friends and their families attending. It was held at a children’s playground in Chatswood, with lots of cakes made by the mums. The beautiful cupcakes and figures you see above were hand made by the mums! Amazing.
Party rooms like this seem very popular these days in Sydney, with the convenience of play areas, catering, and not having to clean up! We’ve worked at many of these, and have found most to be very accommodating. Unfortunately Wizzy World does not allow any professional photography in any of the play areas, even the private ones assigned only to this family. We just had to make do at the food tables. Make sure you talk to your venue about expectations, we find that most venues understand the importance of photography at parties.
